Recent Projects

Tenant Resource and Advisory Centre
Currently conducting a mixed methods evaluation of the Tenant Resource and Advisory Centre’s new Drop-In, which is being developed as a three year pilot project, to provide resources and supports to tenants who are facing eviction or other housing related challenges. (2024 – 2026)

Operation Ukrainian Safe Haven
Conducted a project evaluation for the two-year national program, established in 2022, to bridge and link communications and resources with key stakeholders involved in supporting displaced Ukrainians coming to Canada through the CUAET visa program. The evaluation was based upon data collected through interviews with representatives from the settlement sector, community organizations, and federal and provincial governments. (2024)

City of Vancouver
• Currently conducting a mixed method evaluation of the 3 year Tiny Shelter Pilot Project (TSPP) for the City of Vancouver. The TSPP provides a new form of shelter for people experiencing homelessness in Vancouver. (2024 – 2026)
• Conducted a developmental evaluation of the “Better Together Pilot Project (2022-2024), a multi faceted approach to addressing issues related to poverty, unsheltered homelessness, mental health challenges and addictions in three Vancouver neighbourhoods.

BC Housing
• Conducted two projects related to the Operational Review process for non-profits funded by BC Housing. The initial project was an assessment of the existing review process, which was conducted in 2019/20 in partnership with an auditing consultant. The second project, conducted from 2020 to 2023, entailed working with a team of BC Housing staff and consultants to develop a new Operational Review process for the organization.
• Facilitated a set of online regional workshops for BC Housing’s Women’s Transition House and Supports Program to assist with the development of a new data collection system. (2021-2022)
• Facilitated a two-day workshop in 2019, hosted by BC Housing, for service providers and community organizers designed to support the harmonization of the federal and provincial Homeless Counts in BC.

Surrey Vulnerable Women and Girls Working Group
From 2014 to 2021 provided consulting services, which included conducting collaborative planning processes, facilitating sector forums, and conducting primary research (see report examples below). Surrey Vulnerable Women and Girls Working Group is a collaboration of non-profit and government representatives seeking to identify and address service gaps for street-engaged women and youth in Surrey.

Fraser Health
Conducted two projects for Fraser Health Authority about access to healthcare for people experiencing homelessness. The first, conducted in 2017/18, was a research project to better understand healthcare access issues. The second was a consultation for the new Integrated Homelessness Action Response Team (IHART) Program in four Fraser Valley communities. The purpose of the 2021/2022 project was to assess healthcare access for people experiencing homelessness through IHART and develop recommendations for further improvement. The work included the voices of those with lived and living experience of homelessness, with an emphasis on Indigenous people and communities.

Friends of Simon
Provided program evaluation services between 2012 and 2021 for Friends of Simon, a community-based literacy and numeracy tutoring mentor program for school-aged children (primarily refugees and newcomers), based out of Simon Fraser University.

Surrey Women’s Centre
Project evaluator for “Improved Police Response to Adult Survivors of Sexual Assault”, a joint Surrey Women’s Centre/ Surrey RCMP Special Victim’s Unit (SVU) three-year Project from 2018 to 2021.
